Kevin's Corner

My contribution to the Croud office end-of-week round-up was first named Kevin's Corner in 2019.

I began to script it once it was being delivered to camera from home, during the COVID-19 lockdowns. It was fun for me, and it worked well as a way we could bring everyone together at least once a week. That was important for people who might have been feeling isolated.

After we returned to the office, Kevin's Corner was still a regular item until mid-2023. I'm proud that when we moved into our office on Curtain Road, one of the meeting rooms was named Kevin's Corner.

Some are better than others.

Catherine the Great and why are we so violent?

This picture is of Catherine the Great’s favourite horse. I think he looks worried. Today is the 17th of July and historically it’s a very violent day. Nothing of any significance happened on the ...

Pretending

I’ve mentioned at a Crouded House before that I bought a rowing machine in December. I’ve been using it a lot. This morning, though, I couldn’t find any gym shorts. I went to the toilet, mulled it ...

Oliver, Croud & LDC: the developmental leap

May 29, 2020 • Kevin Joyner

At 5:29 this morning, my son was finally unconscious, and when I laid him down in his cot I was pleased that he didn’t get up. I’d spent an hour trying to put him to sleep, and my wife the hour be...

Kepler's law of coronavirus

May 15, 2020 • Kevin Joyner

Okay so it’s a pretty philosophical one. Possibly a bit lame, we’ll see. I looked it up this morning and found that today - the 15th of May - is the day that in 1618 Johannes Kepler discovered h...
